School Uniform We expect every pupil to wear school uniform. The school policy is to make the uniform as reasonable and practical as possible. Uniform can be ordered through the school, an order is done once a year in May/June time but items can be purchased in Workplace Worksafe, Ruthin at any time of the year. School sweatshirt School T shirt or plain white polo shirt Tailored navy trousers or skirt Black shoes please In the summer, pupils can wear a blue and white dress and anyone can wear navy shorts. PHYSICAL EDUCATION The children will be able to come to school wearing their physical education kit on days where there are PE lessons. We expect them to wear a white t-shirt and plain black shorts. If the lessons are outside the children can wear black tracksuit trousers or plain black leggings to keep warm. Trainers will be needed if the PE lessons are outside. School Dinners Lunch is provided for any child who wishes it. We are able to cater for children with allergies. Sandwiches can be brought to school, but 'fizzy' drinks or sweets are not allowed in the packed lunch as we encourage everyone to bring a healthy packed lunch. The cost of lunch is £2.50 per day, £12.50 per week. In line with this, we try to promote the importance of healthy eating. We encourage the children not to bring snacks - crisps, biscuits, cake, chocolate to eat during playtime. Instead, you could buy fruit at school - £1 for Foundation Phase children and £1.25 for KS2 children, or bring fruit from home. There is a cold water machine in the school and we ask each child to bring a bottle to school daily. Universal Primary Free School Meals (UPFSM) All primary school children in Wales will get free school meals by 2024. This commitment is in response to the rising cost-of-living pressures on families and our shared ambitions of tackling child poverty and ensuring no child goes hungry in school. The Welsh Government is committed to implementing the scheme as quickly as possible.
